The April 29th edition of the U.S. music industry publication "Billboard" has an article in their International section (page 68) talking about a-ha's return to the music scene after seven years. The article has quotes from, among others, the head of WEA Germany, Bernd Dopp, as well as Magne, and shows the warm reception that the new single and album are getting in Europe and its pending release in the U.K. If you have the chance, pick up a copy. Errors in the lyrics for "Minor Earth, Major Sky"...
For those that have already purchased "Minor Earth, Major Sky", you may have noticed that some of the lyrics don't match what Morten sings to on the album. There was an error in adding the lyrics to the cover artwork, partly caused by the rush to press the CD after the studio work was completed in early March. The errors are currently being corrected, and the second (and future pressings) of "Minor Earth, Major Sky" will have the correct lyrics in the CD booklet. (27.04.00)

"Summer Moved On" released to European record stores.
Note that there will be *TWO* CD singles available, one that most of the continent will get, which has four tracks (three mixes of "Summer Moved On", and "Barely Hanging On"). The other, which will ONLY be available in France and Belgium, has only two tracks on it (Summer Moved On - Album Version, and "Barely Hanging On"). H&D has also heard that this 2-track single is also available in Sweden. (27.03.00 - Updated 03.04.00)

... is the H&D VHS video being pulled in Japan?
It seems that with the release of the H&D: The Videos of a-ha - DVD Edition, the VHS version that has been available for most of the 90's has suddenly gone out of print - at least in Japan. (where most North Americans were able to get original NTSC tapes with stereo sound to play on their VCR's) The European PAL version is still available, as far as we know. (28.01.00)

  • First Single: A completely remixed version of "Summer Moved On", mixed and produced by Andreas 'Boogieman' Herbig, will be released to radio on the 21st of February and made available for sale on the 27th of March in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Norway. Erling describes it as "a very radio orientated track that all a-ha fans will love."
  • "Summer Moved On" Video: The plan is to have the music video finished by the 1st of March, where it will be sent to MTV Europe and VIVA in Germany for broadcast.
  • Album: The new a-ha album "Minor Earth, Major Sky" (official title) will be released in those four countries on the 17th of April. The final tracking for the album is not yet finished.
